Skyyn is a skin score app for iPhone and Android. You take a photo, it scores what is visible, and you get a number to beat.
Take one selfie
Face a window or a lamp, hold the phone at eye level and keep your hair off your cheeks. The app frames your face in an oval and tells you if it needs a retake.

In about 15 seconds you see one number from 0 to 100, your personal best, and the sub-score with the most room to grow.

Four sub-scores behind every Skyyn Score
Each one runs from 0 to 100 and has its own colour in the app. Every scan tells you which one has the most room; the numbers themselves are part of Skyyn Pro.
Luminosity
How light catches your skin. Brightness and plumpness push it up; a dull or flat look pulls it down.
Microtexture
How smooth the surface looks. Fewer visible bumps, rough patches and dry patches mean a higher score.
Pore Visibility
How noticeable your pores are across the face. Less visible pores score higher.
Tone Uniformity
How even your skin tone looks. Less visible redness, fewer dark spots and less variation score higher.
How the Skyyn Score is calculated, and what counts as a good one
A number that ignores the small wobbles
Any photo-based score wobbles a little with lighting and angle. Skyyn only reports a change when it is bigger than that wobble.
Small changes are not shown
A change counts only at 5 points or more on the Skyyn Score, measured against your last three scans. Anything smaller is treated as steady.
Weak photos are flagged
If a photo is blurred, unevenly lit or too dim to read, Skyyn marks the scan as low confidence and does not use it to work out whether your score changed.
Scores are never flattered
Nothing is added to make a score look better, and there is no curve. Scores are whole numbers that stay tied to what was observed in the photo.

How accurate is the score?
The score describes what is visible in your photo, and it is steady enough to track change. The app only reports a change of 5 points or more, because smaller differences cannot be told apart from taking another photo. Read what we measured.
Is Skyyn a medical app?
No. Skyyn is a personal skincare assistant, not a dermatologist. It does not diagnose conditions or recommend treatment. If something on your skin worries you, see a dermatologist.
What happens to my photo?
